A Discrete Differential Sequence for Elasticity Based upon Continuous Displacements

چکیده
The present paper introduces a mixed stress-displacement method for linear elasticity, as an extension of the work performed by Christiansen [15] for computational relativity. Moreover, we establish self-adjointness in a special sense and perform numerical simulations to assess the relevance of the method, including comparison with the recent TDNNS [30, 34] mixed formulation. Extensions to higher order approximations and non-linear elasticity are also introduced.

Global Optimization of Stacking Sequence in a Laminated Cylindrical Shell Using Differential Quadrature Method
Based on 3-D elasticity approach, differential quadrature method (DQM) in axial direction is adopted along with Globalized Nelder–Mead (GNM) algorithm to optimize the stacking sequence of a laminated cylindrical shell. The anisotropic cylindrical shell has finite length with simply supported boundary conditions. The elasticity approach, combining the state space method and DQM is used to obtain...
متن کاملStress Analysis of Skew Nanocomposite Plates Based on 3D Elasticity Theory Using Differential Quadrature Method
In this paper, a three dimensional analysis of arbitrary straight-sided quadrilateral nanocomposite plates are investigated. The governing equations are based on three-dimensional elasticity theory which can be used for both thin and thick nanocomposite plates. Although the equations can support all the arbitrary straight-sided quadrilateral plates but as a special case, the numerical results f...
متن کاملDiamond elements: A finite element/discrete-mechanics approximation scheme with guaranteed optimal convergence in incompressible elasticity
We present a finite element discretization scheme for the compressible and incompressible elasticity problems that possess the following properties: (i) the discretization scheme is defined on a triangulation of the domain; (ii) the discretization scheme is defined—and is identical—in all spatial dimensions; (iii) the displacement field converges optimally with mesh refinement; and (iv) the inf...
متن کاملInvariant functions for solving multiplicative discrete and continuous ordinary differential equations
In this paper, at first the elemantary and basic concepts of multiplicative discrete and continous differentian and integration introduced. Then for these kinds of differentiation invariant functions the general solution of discrete and continous multiplicative differential equations will be given. Finaly a vast class of difference equations with variable coefficients and nonlinear difference e...
متن کاملA continuous approximation fitting to the discrete distributions using ODE
The probability density functions fitting to the discrete probability functions has always been needed, and very important. This paper is fitting the continuous curves which are probability density functions to the binomial probability functions, negative binomial geometrics, poisson and hypergeometric. The main key in these fittings is the use of the derivative concept and common differential ...
